Tony joined Syndicate 962 in June 1995. By 2000 Tony had became the lead box underwriter for Liability as well as assisting with reinsurance presentations and syndicate reporting. Having joined Syndicate 2525 in January 2004, he has successfully developed and established the Syndicate's General Liability Account to be a cornerstone of the Lloyd's liability offering. Tony was promoted to Deputy Active Underwriter in June 2015 to reflect his enhanced role within the Syndicate and management responsibilities.

Claims Director

Rob Turner has worked in the non-marine liability sector of Lloyd's for 30 years, working for 19 years at Syndicate 386 prior to joining Syndicate 2525. Starting his career in the Underwriting Department as an entry clerk for Lloyd's Syndicate 386 he moved to their claims department in 1993 and progressed to leading their UK claims offering. He joined Syndicate 2525 in 2003 as part of the new management team and is renowned for his forward thinking in the provision of policyholder focused claims solutions. He devised the ReWage and Direct Settlement claims initiatives as well as the introducing ground- breaking adjuster service contracts and the provision of in-house seconded legal services.

After a brief spell in investment banking, Richard started his insurance career working for the Corporation of Lloyds in 2002 before joining Aspen Insurance to work as a casualty underwriter in 2004. Richard was promoted to head of liability in 2015 where he was involved in all aspects of underwriting and managing the UK & Irish account. Richard is ACII qualified and a Chartered Insurer.

Rob Carroll is the Syndicate's Head of Complex Claims. He is based at our Leeds Office where he heads a team of liability specialists, providing a bespoke and innovative claims service to brokers and policyholders. The extended Leeds Office team handles litigated case on an "in-house" basis, having developed a highly successful and cost-effective legal services partnership with John A Neil Solicitors.
Rob has over 35 years experience in handling complex liability and personal injury cases in the Lloyd's and composite insurance markets, as well as for a law firm specialising in Defendant Insurer litigation. He is widely regarded as having one of the finest technical minds in the liability arena.

Charlie joined the Syndicate in 2020. Most recently he ran Apollo Syndicate's International Casualty team, from 2016 - 2020, building a profitable global book of business amidst challenging market conditions. Prior to Apollo he was Portfolio Manager for QBE's Latin American and Caribbean Casualty business, and he held London market broking roles at Guy Carpenter, and Willis, where he specialised in the Energy sector. Before pursuing an insurance career Charlie was an Officer in the British Army, achieving the rank of Captain. His time in the military included Officer Training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and an operational tour of duty in Iraq.

Nick Ryan is the London Market Claims Manager with overall responsibility for the International Liability account. Nick has a rich background in the commercial liability sector from a career spanning two decades in the London Market. Nick previously worked for QBE in UK and international claims roles including management of their international claims offering. At Syndicate 2525, which he joined in August 2018, Nick capitalises on his strong, long term relationships with brokers and adjusters in support of the growing international liability account, with a focus on best possible outcomes for clients.

Richard started his insurance career at G E Lloyd-Roberts, Syndicate 55 in 1993, and joined the casualty underwriting team shortly afterwards. He moved to R E Brown, Syndicate 702 to continue as a casualty underwriter in 2000, and then spent a year broking casualty business at John Holman & Son before joining Aspen Insurance. At Aspen, Richard was involved in all aspects of underwriting the casualty account, including national and London wholesale accounts, specialist schemes and public sector and housing association business. Richard is ACII qualified and a Chartered Insurer.

Joanne is the Syndicate's UK Claims Manager. She is based in Leeds and handles key EL, PL and Products accounts including high value and complex cases. Joanne is a leading exponent of the Syndicate's special claims initiatives Rewage and the Direct Settlement Scheme as well as being responsible for adjuster procurement/management and service delivery to Policyholders from our external, specialist Health, Safety and Regulatory legal team.

Paul joined Syndicate 2525 in early 2022 from Apollo, where he ran their International Casualty portfolio from 2020-2022. He began his London market career on the Lloyd’s of London graduate scheme, holding roles in investment management, M&A and Underwriting Performance. After Lloyd’s, Paul spent 5 years at MS Amlin as a Casualty Underwriter with a focus on their Canadian, Australian & Latin American portfolio’s. Paul holds a BSc from UCL; has completed the MBA Essentials course at the LSE & is ACII qualified.

Gary joined the Syndicate in September 2022. He began his career in insurance on a graduate scheme at Chaucer Syndicates Ltd. within Casualty Treaty before entering the direct international market 5 years later. He has held roles at Munich Re and most recently at CV Starr for 6 years, underwriting predominantly construction, mining and SME GL business. Gary is ACII qualified.
